Since 1994, Pierre and Cathy Négrel have been traveling to France in search of antique furniture and accents for our Austin, Texas store. We select each piece with an eye toward quality and distinctiveness. Négrel Antiques provides a magnificent selection of 18th- and 19th-century buffets, bookcases, and armoires, French farm tables, Carpenter's workbenches, Provençal commodes, Louis Philippe mirrors, Art Deco armchairs, Louis XVI chests and an eclectic mix of lighting.
Why we love this
Louis XVI-style desk found in the Loire region of France, circa 1900. Made of walnut with fluted, tapered legs. Carvings of flowers and foliage on the back and on the single drawer. The drawer features wreath-shaped brass pulls. Floor to apron: 24"H. Some age marks and scratches on top. A couple of legs are slightly slanted, but desk is sturdy.
