I love old books. I like to read them, to look at them, to decorate with them, and to use them for the perfect present (the ultimate form of recycling). I have been arranging my book shelves by color for quite a while and after helping friends and clients do the same, and seeing the growing trend, I decided to sell decorative book collections, thus DecadesofVintage. For me, decorating with books is like painting a picture or telling a story.
Why we love this
Peyton Place, a novel by Grace Metalious published in 1956, was considered quite "racy" at the time as it looked at all parts of the lives of three women in a small New England town. This first edition, 5th printing has 372 pages. New York: Julian Messner, 1956. Age wear to covers and dust jacket.
