Why we love this
Map dated 1693 by Jacob Bleuw. It depicts one of the French regions. Commissioned by the "The Sun King", Louis XIV. While maps by Bleuw are very rare, this is one is even more so, due to the fact that it was directly commissioned by the king. Part of a series to map out accurately France and French interests. The Blaeuw house is know as "the" firm during the 17th century for map making. Extremely rare. Please note that the crease is NOT permanent and will disappear with framing.
