Why we love this
A large English ironstone dairy shop display slab or stand, circa 1880. Used to display butter, cheese, and other dairy products on a grocer’s shop counter. It was placed upon a block of ice which would chill the slab and keep the products cold. Antique stands are very difficult to find and very collectible. This was a slab for trade use. Unmarked, it weights a substantial 11 pounds.
